How to assign drivers using RFID cards
RFID cards can be assigned to each driver to automate the driver assignment to the vehicle.
Each driver can be assigned an unique RFID card respectively.
Anytime the driver has to operate a given vehicle, they will have to tap the RFID card on the card reader.
This will in turn inform the system to assign the given driver to the vehicle as the primary or first driver.
Note:
If another driver taps the card scanner of the vehicle using their RFID card, then the previous primary driver will be unassigned from the vehicle and this driver will be assigned as the first or primary driver of the vehicle.
In order to avoid cases of theft, the fleet manager can authorize only selected drivers to operate a particular vehicle.
This is achieved via the whitelisting the driver’s RFID card.
The Authorized driver is allocated with a unique RFID card. The same card is then whitelisted on the vehicle’s devices in such a manner that the driver will be able to start the vehicle (turn the ignition ON) only after the authorized RFID card is tapped on the card scanner installed in the vehicle.
No user without the authorized card can start the given vehicle.
