False Fuel Alerts

False Fuel Alerts

Why am I getting False Refuel and False Drainage Events ? How do I figure out the reasons.

Parking on Inclined Surfaces:

Parking on an inclined slope causes the fuel level in the tank to change temporarily. The fuel rod measures this and the following change can be seen as variations on the graph.

If the change in fuel level is beyond a set threshold, a false refuel event / drainage event may be generated.

Sudden Vibrations:

There are certain instances on the road when the vehicle stops at some spots that causes imbalance in the fuel tank. The fuel sensor records this as a fuel level drop but returns to the initial level after a few minutes as the vehicle moves. If fuel level stays at the initial position for a considerable amount of time, false drainage events may be generated.

These types of events can be easily identified looking at the fuel level graph. The graph shows a sudden drop in the fuel level for a few minutes, followed by a sudden rise in fuel level when returning back to its normal level. This happens on extremely rugged terrains that cause short and jerky movements at slow speeds, with frequent stops.
