Fuel event is not on Graph

Why am I getting a Drainage alert, but there is no event on the Fuel Graph ?

In certain events, you might get a drainage alert on your devices, but the graph might not depict the same. This probably happens because of out-of-order data, i.e., the device might have missed sending updated data for a certain period.

Don’t worry, we have built the LocoNav platform in a way that ensures the missed data is received and the updated on the system later on. With this, the platform re-evaluates and corrects the graph.

The following example of events will allow you to better understand this better.

  • Event 1: Vehicle starts at 7:00 AM with 400 litres of fuel.

  • Event 2: At 7:01 AM , the vehicle enters a no network region that causes the device to go offline.

  • Event 3: At 7:30 AM, the vehicle stops and connects to the network. At this point, the fuel level is 390 litres.

  • Event 4: During this stoppage, the fuel sensor records a fuel level of 390 litres, which is a 10 litre drop from the previously known data point at 7:00 am. Hence, platform sends a drainage alert immediately.

  • Event 5: Later at 8:00 AM, the device pushes the data to the platform from the time it was offline, that is 7:01 AM to 7:30 AM, which was stored in its memory.

  • Event 6: The platform reads the updated data and sees how the fuel drop is gradual as the vehicle was on the move.

  • Event 7: Since the drop in fuel level was gradual and the vehicle was moving at this time, it removes the event from the graph.
